ESAFF Lesotho took part in the meeting that was held by FAO on August 1 & 2 2018 which aimed to help the Government of Lesotho together with the private sector and farmer organizations to make NAIPs (National Agriculture Investment Plans), it also involved banks being part of the stakeholders. The plan was set to be for 2019 – 2022 and they are trying to adapt Lesotho integrated program for agriculture and food system development (LIPAD) framework to see if it can work for the country. All stakeholders were put into groups to identify which areas in LIPAD framework are essential for the country and which ones are not and additions or improvements, parts of the framework were adapted and others were left for experts in that field to look at it and decide before 24th August. The Principal Secretary from ministry of
agriculture and food security opened the workshop and the introduction of the LIPAD framework was made, all stakeholders were put in groups to identify which areas in LIPAD framework are essential for the country and which ones are not for additions/improvements.
